Barcaffè dress is the winner


The fourth in a row exhibition of dresses made from packaging materials "Buttoned-up by Scotch Tape" was concluded at the of November in BTC City in Ljubljana, Slovenia with announcing of the winner dress and awarding the lucky voter and designer of the winner dress.


The exhibition was a part of educational project "Packaging - product - consumer - environment protection", that was successfully organized by the Institute of Packaging and Graphic Arts Tectus – IatT, Tectus d.o.o. company and trade journal "Ambalaža/REGprint" from Zagreb, Croatia. The exhibition in the biggest Slovenian shopping center was open from 4th till 19th November 2014.

The audience was greeted by the head of BTC’s Green mission Miha Mermal on behalf of BTC City – partner of the project, and Srećko Bukovec, director of Slopak d.o.o. company, which upon recognizing the educational message that the project sends to a wider public on the importance of correct packaging waste management, joined as a project supporter. Slopak d.o.o. is one of the leading operators of packaging waste management systems in the Republic of Slovenia.
The Ministry of environment of the Republic of Slovenia has also recognized the educational message providing its support to the project.

The moment that everybody was looking forward to was surely the announcement of the dress that the visitors of BTC City voted the winner. In the period from 4th till 19th November all visitors of the shopping center had an opportunity to cast their vote for the best dress out of eight exhibited dresses.
Thus, according to the visitors’ opinion, Droga Kolinska’s Barcaffee dress, designed by Barbara Turk, was voted winner with 182 votes out of 678 valid ballots.

All of the participants of the project – BTC City, media partner Radio Center, project supporter Slopak d.o.o., as well as dress owners and designers were awarded acknowledgements at the closing ceremony.
A lucky voter of the best dress was drawn out of all the voters and awarded with a gift set of products of participating companies. The same gift set was awarded to the designer of the winner dress.

Completion of the fourth edition of the exhibition has proven that educational message on the importance of rethinking packaging and its role in the environment was met with positive response among the public and that this idea should be promoted as much as possible. We believe that dresses from Slovenia will keep on sending the message of the project and continue their ecological mission.
