Braille labelling has been mandatory on pharmaceutical products in EU since 2006. The existing embossing methods feature numerous production challenges. The buyers calculated that it is cheaper to emboss Braille on the gluing machine. In 2007 Bobst introduced its device ACCUBRAILLE that can be installed on Mistral and Alpina gluers. The modules are being shipped with Expertfold and Masterfold gluers since 2008. In addition to numerous benefits of Accubraille, in 2009 Bobst expanded its offer with the possibility of producing up to 100 000 boxes per hour, a speed that has been confirmed by some Bobst users in the region.
